Snowy mountains

A lot of oooh's and aaah's while we were on our way to Mount Cook National Park. I'll share with you some pictures of the many snowy mountain tops and bright-blue lakes we passed. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain, neither did we stay in the national park because weather conditions were definitely not in our favor and they weren't going to be any day soon. The moment we entered the park, it started raining terribly and low clouds obstructed any views of the peak. Even though spring has started over here, it still feels very much like winter to me; temperatures are never over 10 degrees Celsius and there's often a very cold wind which doesn't make it easy to sleep in a car. The sleeping is okay actually, we've got our sleeping bags and a very thick duvet, it's waking up and getting out of the car in the morning that hurts like hell:-)
